Nationals of the following countries require a visa to transit through the international area of any airport located in the territory of the Schengen States in order to take a connecting flight to a country outside the Schengen area:
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia and Sri Lanka.
In addition, nationals of the following countries require a visa to transit through the international area of any airport located in Spain in order to take a connecting flight to a country outside the Schengen area:
Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Cuba, Djibouti, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, India, Liberia, Mali, Republic of the Congo, Sierra Leone, Syria, Togo and Yemen. Holders of passports issued by the Palestinian Authority also require a visa.
Citizens from Dutch overseas territories will no longer need a visa to transit EU airports (citizens from Aruba, Curaçao, San Martín, Bonaire, San Eustaquio and Saba).
Applicants will have to provide evidence that they fall under this category.
Visa applications must be submitted between 6 months and 15 days before the scheduled date of travel.

BLS International Service charge
Applicants applying at the Spanish visa application Centre shall be levied a service charge of 18 USD (inclusive of tax) payable in USD and cash. Children under 6 are exempted from service charge.

Applications accepted at the Spain Visa Application Centre will be submitted on the next working day at the Embassy of Spain/Consulate General of Spain. Once the application has been submitted, the applicant can be further requested additional documentation in support of the same. Please note as per the instructions received from Embassy of Spain minimum processing time is 15 Calendar days (It may delay depending on case to case).
All applications must be submitted at least 15 working days prior to the proposed date of travel to accommodate any unforeseen processing delays.
Processing time will start excluding the date of submission of application at BLS International Services.
Applicants submitting the applications towards the Embassy of Spain, Beirut with short processing time will be required to fill up the Declaration form.
