Travel from Lebanon to Spain

I am in Lebanon and I travel to Spain for tourism (exception k), what documents do I have to provide to travel to Spain?
In addition to the usual documentation and your valid visa (if you need a visa), you must present:

  • Certificate confirming that the holder has received a vaccine against COVID-19 (vaccination certificate). The certificate must be written in Spanish, English, French or German.
  • DOCUMENTARY CONTROL QR code generated after entering the certificate data in section a) in the health control form through the website www.spth.gob.es or the Spain Travel Health (SpTH) application available on Android and iOS.

You must present this documentation at the time of boarding and upon arrival in Spain.
In addition, upon arrival in Spain, you may be required to carry out a health check that will include, at least, a temperature measurement, a documentary check and a visual check.

Is my Schengen visa enough to enter Spain?
No, being in possession of a Schengen visa does not allow automatic entry into Spain. You must meet the entry conditions (see the questions above).

If I already have a valid Schengen visa and I need authorization from the Border Police (CEFRONT), how can I process it?
Send us an email to emb.beirut.vis@maec.es with the following information:

  • Name and surname of the person.
  • Biometric data sheet and valid Schengen visa sheet of the passport.
  • Reservation of plane ticket to and from Spain.
  • Contact telephone number.
  • Supporting documentation proving to be within one of the aforementioned exceptions.

From the embassy we will send the query to CEFRONT. Once the answer is obtained, you will be informed of the decision of the Border Police by email or telephone.

What documents must minors under 18 years of age traveling to Spain present?
In addition to the usual documentation and your valid visa (if you need a visa), minors must present:
If the minor is under 12 years old:

  • Documentation that proves that your case is among the exceptions indicated (except for exception k).
  • QR code generated after completing the health control form through the website www.spth.gob.es or the Spain Travel Health (SpTH) application available on Android and iOS.
  • Entry authorization from the Spanish Border Police (CEFRONT) for exceptions c), g), h) and i). This authorization is managed from the consular section of the embassy, for which, you must present the documentation in section a) and the plane ticket.

If the minor is between 12 and 18 years old:

  • Documentation that proves that your case is among the exceptions indicated (except for exception k)).
  • Certificate confirming that the holder has received a vaccine against COVID-19 (vaccination certificate) (the only one admitted if traveling according to exception k)) or certificate indicating the result of a Diagnostic Test for Active COVID-Infection- 19 that the holder (diagnosis certificate) or certificate confirming that the holder has recovered from COVID-19 (recovery certificate) has been made. The certificates must be written in Spanish, English, French or German.
  • DOCUMENTARY CONTROL QR code generated after entering the data from the certificate in section b) in the health control form through the website www.spth.gob.es or the Spain Travel Health (SpTH) application available on Android and iOS.
  • Entry authorization from the Spanish Border Police (CEFRONT) for exceptions c), g), h) and i). This authorization is managed from the consular section of the embassy, for which, you must present the documentation in section a) and the plane ticket.

I am in Lebanon and I am an EU citizen. Can I travel to Spain? What documents do I need?
Yes, you can travel to Spain provided, in addition to the usual documentation, of:

  • Certificate confirming that the holder has received a vaccine against COVID-19 (vaccination certificate) or certificate indicating the result of a Diagnostic Test for Active COVID-19 Infection that the holder has performed (diagnostic certificate) or certificate confirming that the holder has recovered from COVID-19 (recovery certificate). The certificates must be written in Spanish, English, French or German.
  • DOCUMENTARY CONTROL QR code generated after entering the certificate data in section a) in the health control form through the website www.spth.gob.es or the Spain Travel Health (SpTH) application available on Android and iOS.

You must present this documentation at the time of boarding and upon arrival in Spain. In addition, once you arrive in Spain, you may be required to carry out a health check that will include, at least, a temperature measurement, a documentary check and a visual check.

I am in Lebanon and I am a relative of an EU citizen. Can I travel to Spain?
Yes, the same conditions are applied to EU citizens and their foreign family members.

I am in Lebanon, and I am not an EU citizen. Can I travel to Spain?
Yes only if your case is reflected in one of the following categories:

  • Ordinary residents of the EU, Schengen Associated States, Andorra, Monaco, The Vatican (Holy See) or San Marino who go to that country, providing documentary proof.
  • Holders of a long-stay visa issued by a Member State or Schengen Associated State who are heading to that country.
  • Health professionals, including health researchers, and elderly care professionals who are heading to or returning from their work activity.
  • Transport personnel, seafarers and aeronautical personnel necessary to carry out air transport activities.
  • Diplomatic and consular personnel, of international organizations, military, civil protection and members of humanitarian organizations, in the exercise of their functions.
  • Students who carry out their studies in the Member States or Schengen Associated States and who have the corresponding permit or visa for long-term stay, provided that they go to the country where they are studying, and that the entry occurs during the academic year or the 15 days prior. If the destination is Spain and the duration of the stay is up to 90 days, it must be proven that the studies are carried out in an authorized teaching center in Spain, registered in the corresponding administrative register, following a full-time program during this phase and in person, and that leads to obtaining a degree or certificate of studies.
  • Highly qualified workers whose work is necessary and cannot be postponed or carried out remotely, including participants in high-level sports events that take place in Spain. These circumstances must be justified by documentary evidence.
  • Persons traveling for duly accredited imperative family reasons.
  • People traveling for duly accredited reasons of force majeure or need, or whose entry is allowed for humanitarian reasons.
  • Residents of third countries listed in the annex (not applicable to Lebanon) as long as they come directly from them, have transited exclusively through other countries included in the list or have carried out only international transits at airports located in countries not listed in the annex . For residents of China, Hong Kong SAR, and Macao SAR, reciprocity remains to be verified.
  • Persons provided with a vaccination certificate that the Ministry of Health recognizes for this purpose, after verification by the health authorities, as well as accompanying minors to whom the Ministry of Health extends the effects.

I am in Lebanon and my case is in one of the exceptions (any except letter k)) that allows me to enter Spain, what documents do I have to bring to travel to Spain?
In addition to the usual documentation and your valid visa (if you need a visa), you must present:

  • Documentation that proves that your case is among the exceptions indicated.
  • Certificate indicating the result of a Diagnostic Test for Active COVID-19 Infection that the holder has performed (diagnostic certificate) or certificate confirming that the holder has recovered from COVID-19 (recovery certificate). The certificates must be written in Spanish, English, French or German.
  • DOCUMENTARY CONTROL QR code generated after entering the certificate data in section b) in the health control form through the website www.spth.gob.es or the Spain Travel Health (SpTH) application available on Android and iOS.
  • Entry authorization from the Spanish Border Police (CEFRONT) for exceptions c), g), h) and i). This authorization is managed from the consular section of the embassy for which, you must present the documentation from section a) and your plane ticket.
    You must present this documentation at the time of boarding and upon arrival in Spain.

In addition, upon arrival in Spain, you may be required to carry out a health check that will include, at least, a temperature measurement, a documentary check and a visual check.

Passengers from countries not affected by the restriction will not be required to certify the health requirements (such as PCR test result).
However, before travelling to Spain, Lebanese passengers and Residents in LEBANON must make sure they have filled a form on the website spth.gob.es or through the free app SPAIN TRAVEL HEALTH-Sp TH. They will obtain the QR code that they will have to show (paper or on mobile phone) to the company before boarding and at the health control upon arrival in Spain.
Each form is personal and non-transferable, and is associated with a single trip.
In case the passenger is a minor, or a dependent/disabled person, the form can be completed by their guardian, who will be responsible for the accuracy of the information provided.

International Mobility telephone service:

The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation has launched a new International Mobility Telephone Service (known as CONECTA in Spanish) aimed to answer and clarify all the inquiries regarding the entry conditions/requirements of several countries (including Spain) for businesspeople, workers, professional and/or technicians who wish to travel despite the ongoing restrictions derived from COVID-19. The telephone service is available from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. (Spain Local Time – GMT+2) through the following numbers: 060 (from Spain) and +34 911252122 (from abroad).
